Today's Feature Friday is Omer Segoly, Founder and Managing Director of Techtone.
Omer is one of the first friends of both Co-Founders of Kleiner Services Inc., Mary and Konstantin, back in 2007. The three entrepreneurs all went to school at BCIT at the Burnaby Campus. Together they all knew that one day they would be small business owners in the lower mainland. With less than a decade away these two companies have leaned on each other for many services; networking at its best.
Omer has offered many insights for our company by sharing his knowledge of cloud technology and website development. Often times the big expensive and daunting problems were fixed with easy online resources and experienced advice. Having multiple redundancies in our office and our online presence was clearly audited and corrected by Omer.

About Omer Segoly
My name is Omer Segoly and I am the Founder and Managing Director of Techtone, a Vancouver-based IT Services company specialized in cloud technology. For nearly a decade, I have been offering IT consulting and tech support services to small businesses, enabling them to focus on what they do best. Three years ago I decided to launch Techtone, which allows me to take on more clients and scale what I love to do.
Techtone currently employs four full-time staff members and is looking to double in size over the next 12 months. We welcome clients all across the Greater-Vancouver area and offer both remote and on-site support.

What makes you stand out?
We don’t believe in long-term or fixed-monthly contracts and our clients enjoy working with us because they only have to pay for our services as the needs arise. We do also offer monthly plans with proactive monitoring and unlimited support but that often isn't feasible for small businesses. Either way, we are extremely responsive and we ensure that are clients are looked after.
What's new and exciting in the IT world?
If you are a business owner and you're not already using Office 365, you are missing out on tremendously powerful tools that could improve your efficiency and cost savings. What used to cost businesses thousands of dollars a year and required a full-time IT person on-site, is now available for $5/month. Any tips you would like to share with our readers?
- Be extra-extra-extra cautious with any email you open. Most attacks trickle through email these days. You should also be using a reliable email service provider that is actively scanning your inbound mail for malware and viruses while isolating spam.
- Don't rely on external hard drives to manage all your backups. We highly recommend looking into a cloud solution that could keep your data safe and off-site.
- If you're not already on Windows 10, we highly recommend that you check it out. Microsoft has finally redeemed itself and our clients love it
